It’s proven marijuana is the wonder drug for cancer

Scientists from the National Cancer Institute (US Department of Health) have confirmed that cannabis, or marijuana, does kill cancer cells, after a series of laboratory tests and speculations.

In its website, the institute wrote, ‘cannabis and cannabinoids may have benefits in treating the symptoms of cancer or the side effects of cancer therapies’ and also that ‘cannabis has been shown to kill cancer cells in the laboratory.’ The website also records that ‘cannabis and cannabinoids have been studied in the laboratory and the clinic for relief of pain, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, and loss of appetite.’ Here are 13 foods that help fight cancer.

Having said that, the researchers also stressed that marijuana has only shown these effects on mice, and are not yet ready to recommend the drug for human use in fighting cancer. Although Cancer Research pointed out that there is not yet enough evidence to determine whether cannabis can be effectively used for cancer treatment, but this could be a big moment in the battle against the disease. This new development may pave the path for a nationwide legalization of marijuana!

Marijuana can actually stop the spread of cancer. It contains a chemical called cannabidiol that prevents the spread of cancer through your body. A study done by the California Pacific Medical Centre, San Francisco, found that cannabidiol (a potent component in weed) stops the deactivation of a gene called Id-1 that cancer cells use to spread throughout a person’s body. Cancer cells tend to make more copies of this gene than normal cells, which help them spread. The authors of this study took samples of breast cancer cells that have the highest level of expression of Id-1 and treated them with cannabidiol. They found that the cancerous cells decreased and were less aggressive in their spread. Subsequently, maybe smoking up might not be so bad.
